Municipal board

The municipal board is responsible for municipal administration and financial management, as well as for the preparation, implementation, and monitoring of the legality of council decisions.

The municipal board supervises the interests of the municipality, represents the municipality, and exercises its right to speak.

It has a strong position in the municipality, but it does not have as much decision-making power as the council. The board prepares decisions to be decided by the council.

The municipal board has nine members.

The members of the board are elected by the council and they elect a chairperson and a deputy chairperson from among themselves.

In Salla, ordinary general meetings of the municipal board are usually held every three weeks.
